Up and Coming Author: Hussin Alkheder
I’d like to introduce you to one of my more recent editing clients. Hussin Alkheder is a Syrian born writer currently living in Shanghai and attending classes to add the Chinese language to his repertoire. Already a skilled translator from Arabic to English, he has now added Chinese to Arabic and Chinese to English.
Most importantly, to me at least, he is a published author who continues to write. I’ve had the privilege of editing two books for him now and his current offering, Death and Deception in Damascus, is being considered by agents. Hus writes from his first-hand experiences in a variety of cultures in cities like Damascus, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, and now Shanghai.
The first book I edited for Hus was a collection of short stories called Four Ladies; the ladies being the four cities in which he has lived. A great eye for detail and empathy for the human condition, Hus spins tales to inform and entertain. I certainly acquired a better understanding of other cultures during the edit.
I look forward to seeing more from this author in the years ahead. In the meantime, Four Ladies is available on Amazon, as is his non-fiction book, The Victorious Blood.
