An amazing new feature of LinkedIn is ProFinder where seekers can request special services from a one-time consulting meeting to freelance gigs from unique subject matter experts. Professionals identify themselves as a specialist, and then wait for folks to send inquiries via ProFinder that match the seeker and specialist.
An email asks the seekers a simple set of questions and recipients can answer with a limited set of characters, why they would be best for the seeker’s solutions.
One of the more prevalent requests within one field is content writing for websites and blog pages, or ghostwriting a book. What is surprising is many inquirers are asking for project content that essentially reinvents the wheel for their industry or field. They are asking for someone else to write content from scratch on specialized topics.
What they are not realizing is that same content is usually available for free.
